Soul Compass came across one of my feeds this week, and due to it's pedigree, it may be relevant to your interests. It's an in-development PC game modeled after the Game Boy games of the past- it seems to most closely resemble Final Fantasy Legend 3 with some Chrono Trigger-esque placement mechanics mixed in, so I thought our resident fan may be interested. 
It's still under development, and no demo is available yet. There's a preview on YouTube and you can track the game's progress here. I'll also bump this post when I see it released.
