So I tried the beta of Platformines over the weekend- it was pretty fun for the hour I played the beta, but I'm not sure if it'll hold up over the course of a full-sized game.
It's basically a combination of Metal Slug and Borderlands- it's a platformer you're exploring a randomly-generated dungeon searching for eight doodads, blasting your way through with buyable randomly-generated guns. It's kind of an RPG, by the loosest definition of the term.
Here's the trailer, featuring a lot of explosions set to a chiptune remix of the Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy:
