OK, I know how to use the Hoimi Table, it works for me beautifully, in fact, I am right now re-stocking my orbs of all colors.
But I have a grand-royal bitch with the DVQC Calculator, I have NEVER been able to get what I want from it.
Can someone take me, step-by-step, from power-on to final result, to get exactly what I want?
It isn't available yet this week, so I have a chance to practice, before the item does go into the store, because it is the one and only item I need for Wardrobe Completion, the High-Class Heels.
I need to know how...when it comes into the store...to work it so that I'm offered a chance to buy them...because this is the only way this item is obtained.
So, if someone could really help me here, so I can get it totally right, and then practice on getting other items....so that I can get good at it before I need it...I would really appreciate it!

The DQVC Calculator requires the use of several websites. I haven't played the game in a long time, but here are my links: DQVC Calculator: www.yabd.org/apps/dq9/dqvc.php#s=0032Grotto Finder: dq9.ffsky.cn/maplocation.htm (the page is in Chinese and its screenshots are in Japanese, but the maps and location numbers should be recognizable if you don't speak either language) Grotto Analyzer: www20.atpages.jp/dq9tools/tmape.cgiIn order to use the DQVC Calculator, you must make detailed notes of all the treasure maps you have, including the in-game treasure map menu's page layouts. One page in the menu has the data for up to 8 treasure maps. For the DQVC Calculator to work, you must plug in the data from a treasure map at the BOTTOM of a full page ("full" meaning a page with 8 treasure maps). For example, consider the following hypothetical page: Platinum Void of Dolour L76 Steel Crypt of Regret L78 Emerald Path of Bane L79 Sapphire World of Dolour L80 Sapphire Glacier of Bane L81 Emerald Snowhall of Hurt L81 Sapphire Ruins of Ruin L83 Sapphire Crater of Gloom L84 This means you'll want to plug in the data from Sapphire Crater of Gloom L84, since it's the last one on the page. However, you need the grotto's four-character code in order to use the DQVC Calculator website. How do you find it? First, go to the Grotto Finder website, and examine the location picture the game gives for Sapphire Crater of Gloom L84. In our hypothetical example, the picture shows the entrance a beach, and further investigation on the Chinese website places it on the beach south of Upover. So that's location 7A. Now we're getting somewhere. Now go to the Grotto Analyzer website. Select "Sapphire", "Creater" (sic), and "Gloom" for the first three drop-down boxes. The next box, which says "Lv99", is the drop-down box for the grotto's level, so select "Lv84" for that one. For the fifth drop-down box, select "7A" from the list because that's the grotto's location. This particular combination of grotto details yields one result. Look for the four-character code at the beginning. In this case, it's 3FB0. (Well, 3FB0-L to be exact, but you can ignore the -L.) Return to the DQVC Calculator website, enter 3FB0 in the "Map Seed" box, and click the "Go" button. What follows is a series of charts that show which items DQVC will have if you select the "Sapphire Crater of Gloom L84" map IMMEDIATELY BEFORE talking to Sellma and connecting to DQVC. You can change the six items for sale by accessing the Battle Records menu, and quickly exiting, a certain number of times before talking to Sellma and connecting. (I like to press the Select button to instantly enter the Battle Records menu, and the B button to leave. It's slightly faster than using the "Battle Records" option from the main command menu.) If you select Sapphire Crater of Gloom L84 from your treasure map list (making sure to be inside the inn) and talk to Sellma immediately afterwards, she should sell Estard Hood, Saint's Ashes, Elfin Elixir, Halo, Estard Shoes, and Astral Plume. Not happy with these wares? Then access the Battle Records menu ONCE between selecting Sapphire Crater of Gloom L84 and talking to Sellma. She'll sell you the Halo, Sage's Elixir, Yggdrasil Dew, Reset Stone, Lucida Shard, and Trodain Trousers. Keep going down the list until you see a combination of items you like. You can also input the map seed codes from other grottoes that appear at the bottoms of the pages in your treasure map menu. I hope this was useful!

Somewhat.
I know I was using the wrong seed codes now. I was using the last 4 digits, for example, map code C934B2 - I would enter "34B2" in my seed code box.
Now you tell me it is the other seed code thing you get from the Grotto Analyzer - the five-digit code that usually ends in a letter - just enter the first 4 digits.
So I can TRY that and see if my luck is any better. I won't know for sure until I am successful, but I will try. If it works, then I will finally know how to use the DVQC Calculator, and you will have my sincere thanks!
Thanks for TRYING to help, anyway, even if this doesn't work...like I said, I have had a hard time with this one.
Update later.

IT WORKED!!!!
I managed it. as it so happened, I happened to have 84 Sapphire map you mentioned above, and right at the bottom.
So, I did a one battle record search, and it gave me what you said it wold...and what the Calculator also said (same thing)
Now...just one other question....why do some items show up in DARK BLUE on the calculator list instead of light blue? wondering what that means.
there seems to always be six light blue items....those are the items you seem to get....but why are there some pages with, say, eight highlighted items, and a couple of them in dark blue?

Holy crap. And here I thought DQVC just offered a canned set of items every week! - HC Nope. There's a method to that madness. Now...just one other question....why do some items show up in DARK BLUE on the calculator list instead of light blue? wondering what that means. Dark blue means the item appears more than once on the list, so the game skips over the item's duplicate entry or entries. Glad I could be of some service. ;D Of course, the map seed SHOULD be the same as the last four digits of the Grotto Analyzer's map page code. For example, the aforementioned Sapphire Crater of Gloom Lv84 has the seed 3FB0-L and the map page for B53FB0. The first two digits of the map page code indicates the grotto's quality, in this case B5 (181 in hexadecimal).

Hmmmm...WTF?
I was using that four-digit code on the end of the six-digit hex code...and it did not work for me before.
Well, I seem to have been able to make it work this last time. Maybe I had a wrong seed, or didn't open it right when I tried before...dunno.
This time, I went to the Inn in Stornway, and pulled a Quick Save.
Then I powered off and reloaded the game INSIDE THE INN.
Then I physically opened the map I wanted, in this case, the aforementioned Sapphire Crater of Gloom...which just happened to be one which was at the bottom of a page on my own game.
Then, because I wanted the Items which included Lucida Shards, I did the Battle Records once...using the "Select - B" method outlined by Vireo.
Then I immediately talked to Sellma and connected to the Nintendo Server.
This produced the results I wanted. I got the items the Calculator said I would get...including my Lucida Shards.
So...when they finally give us a chance at the High-Class Heels, maybe I can snag a pair and finish off my Wardrobe.

Well, this time it worked for me, gave me the right items, when I did 8x Battle Records, because I wanted an Ygg Leaf as well as Lucida Shards.
I got ripped off and had to use one of my Ygg Leaves while Hoimi'ing up some Orbs...using my real guys not my Orb Farms, because all my peeps are level 99, did not want the EXP points wasted.
I gotta say, though, I dunno HOW folks beat a Level 99 Legacy Boss!! I'm having a hard enough time in the 50's...and I'm using 3 Level 99 gladiators and 1 Level 99 Priest for the healing.
Tomorrow is my birthday...and also the day I should achieve 100% Alchenomicon. I have three more items to make. Two of them I could make right now with reset Stones...but I do not want to do it that way, I have one more Miracle Item to make...and I want to get that first. THEN the other two...and I'll have 100% Alchenomicon.
I don't want 100% Alchenomicon until I have ALSO made all the Alchemiracle Items which don't show up in the Alchenomicon. For me...100 percent is 100 percent, and so I don't want 100 percent until I REALLY have 100 percent.
I need 4 more Lucida Shards in order to make the 3 Agates I need for the Alchemiracle Item. I should be able to manage it through the DVQC and swiping a few Evencloth/Brighten Rock...enough to manage 12 Lucida shards...then I can grab my items...and I truly then WILL have only High Class Heels for Wardrobe...right now, I still need Xenlon Claws.

There are YouTube videos of people defeating Legacy Bosses at high levels. I never saw the point of it, myself. There are no in-game benefits to doing so, only bragging rights. And since nobody in the USA will openly admit to playing DQ9, who can you brag TO?
The only point to leveling up Legacy Bosses is to gain access to other Legacy Bosses (as in the case of Baramos-Murdaw-Dhoulmagus and Dragonlord-Psaro-Nimzo).
Also, happy birthday! I'll add it to my online friends' birthday list.

I'll add it to my online friends' birthday list. Thanks. I'd like to see one of those videos, though. I agree with you about there being no-one to brag to - heck, at the Tag Event I went to, in Reading, PA, I was THE ONLY PERSON WHO SHOWED UP!! Drove 75 miles for that, too. But at least I got early Orgodemir Map! I just want to get the Accolades for beating them...and, as you say, bragging rights, I'd feel okay just knowing it myself. I have Legacy Bosses between Level 35 - Level 55 so far. Currently, my strategy is 3 Gladiators, one Priest. Give the "Protect From Critical Hits" to the Priest, so that your healer/resurrector...does not get wiped out with a lucky shot. Usually, I seem to beat them...with some difficulty, but also have been wiped out a few times that way. Of course, I was also going in not at full magic - as I was doing Hoimi stuff...and trying very hard to never use Ygg Dew or Ygg Leaves, since I currently have a full stock of them all. At some point I imagine I'll have to let go of that....but not ready to just yet. I currently have characters revocated to +4 everything, except Priest/Mage/Martial Artist/Minstrel, which are all +2's. The other thing I have not yet done in the Legacy Boss area, is go after them with 4 Hypernova Swords equipped...or with a combo of Hypernova and Uber Miracle swords...have not used Life Bracer accessory when doing this either...so there ARE things I can yet do to get to higher levels.
