Hmmm...seems the SyFy Network has a new page when you can play some games...some of them look like they might be fun for some folks here. I'm not too into the big MMORPG's like some people are (me, I tend to prefer solo games - mainly because of the Warcraft Syndrome) but i am posting this because it might be of interest to some other folks on this Board. www.syfygames.com/*** The Warcraft Syndrome - a condition that causes experienced MMORPG players to take incredibly unfair advantage of Newbies. See also, jerk. The Warcraft Syndrome is so named because this sort of behavior is totally rampant on World of Warcraft.

Looks like it's mostly the Facebook-style "Social" browser games... I'll pass, I think. : P If I were in the mood for that, I'd hit Kongregate.
I've yet to find the Facebook game that held my interest for more than a week... Well, maybe Words with Friends or Bejeweled, but I'd argue that neither of those are really Facebook games and therefore don't really count.

But I thought it might be of interest to some folks here.

I've gotta say, I don't think that MMO greifers are really as big of an issue as you seem to think, although on the other hand, part of the secret to enjoying MMOs seems to be playing with people you already know.
Personally, I've always been a little worried about getting addicted, although given my short attention span I don't think that's realistically very likely. I do kind of have philosophical objections to a game without an end and the ever-evolving nature of most MMOs bothers me a bit... I kind of worry that I'll get into X for a while, then say to myself "Hey, I'd like to play X again!" in five years only to find that it's totally different or completely gone.
I did solo for a while in some fantasy-themed Streets of Rage-style "brawler RPG" a couple years ago; it was fun, but I lost interest pretty quickly without any reason to keep playing beyond watching bars go up. Now I can't even remember it's name. Alas.
That being said- from what I've seen, most Facebook and browser-based games are more akin to a "click this button every 8 hours" skinner box than a real 'game'.
