Does anyone here other than me have a Dingoo?
For those who do not know the Dingoo is a device that emulates all manner of games. You can't even buy one in a brick-and-mortar store here in America, you have to buy them online, usually from Japan.
The Dingoo cannot emulate the DS, as it does not have dual screens, but it CAN emulate all other Nintendo portables, as well as NES and SNES, Atari, TurboGraphx 16 (PC Engine) MAME, Sega and many Sega handhelds, Coleco, Atari, even some Playstation games can be emulated on this device.
I currently have mine set up with over 800 different games...over 1200 if you count all the dupes that are on more than one system - for example Atari PacMan and MAME PacMan.
Just wondering in anyone else has managed to get one of these...or a similar console, such as the Wiz...or even...(God I Want One) a Pandora!!
These are consoles that really only the hard core emulators, coders, gamers (and pirates) know about.

The Dingoo, and those other devices you mentioned, sound fairly interesting. However, I do pretty much all my gaming and emulation on the PC, and last year I invested a lot of money in a brand new custom-built desktop PC made for gaming.
I don't leave my house all that much (except to work, where gaming is obviously prohibited), so it wouldn't make sense for me to own portable devices (except for the Nintendo DS, but that's because of all the awesome exclusive games for it).
Still, the Dingoo seems like the type of thing more people should know about, since portable gaming is all the rage these days. As Brad Paisley once sang:
And I'd have given anything To have my own Pac-Man game at home. I used to have to get a ride down to the arcade Now I've got it on my phone.

Well, a lot of people don't know about them, mainly because you can't get them in America, except online, usually from Japan.
I like my portable games, because, among other things, I can play them while I am laying in bed. I can play on them when I am waiting in a doctor's office, or just about anywhere else I have to wait (except, of course, waiting for a job interview...)

I've kind of been considering picking up a PSP for similar reasons- most of my gaming these days gets done on the train to or from work, I've really been tempted lately to play some more old emulated games, and I know there are a couple homebrew emulators on the PSP (There are also a bunch of PSP games that I've been interested in at one point or another, so getting a PSP instead of a Dingoo kills two birds with one stone). Traditionally I've felt weird about having more than one handheld at a time, but given the current situation I think I can justify it. I'm sure PSPs will also be pretty cheap used now with the Vita coming out. - HC

I'd imagine so.
However, I am not sure a PSP can do MAME games or FBA games and THAT is why I like the Dingoo over the PSP. Nothing rocks more than having a retro 80's arcade in your pocket.

There's a port of MAME for the PSP... What does FBA stand for? - HC FBA = Final Burn Alpha. It runs some of the newer, more complex arcade games with a newer chip, which MAME cannot handle. You can download a PSP-compatible version of FBA here pspslimhacks.com/finalburn-alpha-fba4psp-v124-released/You're on your own for ROMs...because I do not support piracy. Basically, FBA is a MAME-type emulator for MC68000/Z80 based arcade games (MAME can't handle these...) Basically, it runs games on the following systems, which MAME cannot handle - Capcom CPS-1 - Capcom CPS-2 - Capcom CPS-3 - Cave - Neo Geo - Sega System 16 (and similar), System 18, X-Board, Y-Board - Toaplan - Taito - Psikyo 68EC020 based hardware And let me tell you...if you like thousand-bullet HELL games...like I sometimes do...you want games from Psikyo!! Many of them were only released in Japan...but also many with English text - while still only released in Japan.

You're a shmup fan, too? I never realized.
I'm generally more of a Cave fan than a Psikyo fan, though... Even if Psikyo did do the Strikers 1945 series (AKA the best series of ostensibly World War II-themed shooters where everything turns into a giant robot for no goddamn reason ever).

But I do enjoy thousand bullet hell when I am in the right mood. Anyway, I found you a link to download an FBA emulator for the PSP. And FBA DOES handle Strikers 1945, I know, I have it.

Yeah, the Strikers games all run under MAME... The Gunbird series, too.
My favorite arcade shooters are probably DoDonPachi and Arashi no Progear, even though I know they're pretty old... I've got a certain weakness for Cybattler, too, even though it's a bit of a weird one.

DonPachi works on FBA, though. Cybattler is definitely weird. That's one I did not get for my collection...but I can understand how a game like that could manage a cult following of sorts.

Really? I've been running DoDonPachi for years in MAME without any issues... I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it's supported in most of the MAME variants. If there's a MAME for the Dingoo, you should see if it's on whatever compatibility list they've got.

As far as I know it is not supported. I'll double check that, and, if it is, I am getting it. Yeah...here's the deal...MAME 37b5 DOES run DoDonPachi...but not on the Dingoo...it hangs the Dingoo.
