Oldschool dungeon-crawler fans- you know who you are, Kalisiin ;) - may wish to check out the PC/Mac/Linux game Heroes of a Broken Land, a recently-released indie title. It's effectively a procedurally-generated dungeon crawler; as one of the gods of a shattered world, your mission is to reassemble the Crystal Heart and restore the planet, by way of accepting quests and spelunking into dungeons, restoring your fame and power as you go. It's pretty nifty- I've been playing the demo version (pretty big) on my commute. Definitely worth a try; the visuals aren't the greatest, but it's otherwise pretty solid and the demo is free. - HC

If I could ever find some time, this looks to me like it's worth a look.

For what it's worth: you can select the size of the world when you generate it; the smallest size appears to be possible to complete in maybe 10 hours or so.

Not bad. I am just busier than a one-armed paper hanger at the moment. In my industry right now, we are having a sort of "Y2K" moment. We are changing our diagnosis classifications from the old codeset of ICD9 to the new codeset of ICD10.
Because of this, there will be many new codes...and all the codes are changing. Where there were about 13,000 codes in ICD-9-CM there will be over 36,000 codes in ICD-10-CM (Currently, I do not use the -PCS codes as those are institutional)
In order to deal with this issue, I have had a program built which will convert the old ICD9 codes into ICD-10 codes for me. The thing is, I have to compile the database to feed the program. and that means manually compiling an Excel Spreadsheet containing over 36,000 data lines!
So I haven't had much time for gaming lately...this must be completed by October.
This also explains my recent absence from the Forum here!

Ouch, sounds like a handful! Good luck with everything. Just pointing out that HoBL isn't a 60-hour epic unless you want it to be, if that helps you find the time. the Tiny world I explored in the demo game was maybe 15-20 dungeons, each of which takes 30-45 mins to complete. I'm not sure what the requirements are to finish the game, but I'm guessing it amounts to completing 8-10 specific dungeons. I'm not sure if it gets more complicated on bigger worlds. - HC
