This shit- which uses an algorithm and your social media accounts to determine how influential you are- honestly kinda scares me, especially given the ongoing move toward tying everything you do on the internet directly to your real name. One of the things that fuels liberal return policies and businesses trying hard to make it up to you when they screw up is fear of bad press from a story about a customer being shafted going viral. I can't help but worry that someday in the forseeable future, businesses are going to be able to use this to determine just what quality of customer service you 'rank'. End extrovert privilege. - HC

Wow. Stuff like this creeps me out. I'm glad I don't use social media, and I only use my real name online when money is involved.

Even that won't help for very long; in The Future- which is increasingly becoming The Present- not having any social media accounts will be a pretty solid indicator of not being influential enough to worry about.
