Was coming on to post- yes, my wife and I are fine... We were both at work outside Boston proper during the day. Afaik all of my boston-area friends and family are fine (including 32, who's in the area now).
The boston.com live feed is every related tweet, so there's a lot of exaggerated/conflicting/incorrect news there... I was following CNN's live log; the Boston PD's twitter feed is another good source.

So I guess the suspects engaged in a shootout at MIT last night and are now currently hiding out in Watertown. A lot of the public services are shut down and the neighboring towns are asking people not to leave their houses.
I, however, live a decent distance away from there, so I'm fine.

Too bad they did not plug the little bastard...some people just don't deserve to walk on the same planet as I do.

I'm kinda glad they got one of them alive- I expect that it'll yield quite a bit of intelligence that would have been difficult to obtain by looking at email trails or from third parties. If it makes you feel any better, it appears that the older brother (who was shot by cops and then run over by his escaping brother) was the driving force while the younger (who was captured) was more of a dumbass accomplice.
The captured suspect is realistically looking at life in prison or possibly the death penalty, assuming he survives his stay in the hospital. He was in pretty bad shape last I heard.

As much as the info and intel might be good, I still would rather see him taking the eternal celestial dirt nap.
The son of a bitch does not deserve to walk on the same planet as the rest of us. That asshole is a waste of oxygen.
Okay, get your information out of him and then please put a fucking bullet between his eyes. He does not deserve to live, and he does not deserve a trial, and he does not deserve to live the rest of his life at taxpayer expense.
Plug him. Too bad it'll take some metal to make the bullet, because he isn't even worth that much.
I got a better idea...just stick the bastard in a large Torr Converter and start pumping out the air, and let the bastard explode in a vacuum.

I'm a little hesitant to set the precedent that it's okay for law enforcement to just kill citizens without trial if we really, really don't like them, which is what you seem to be advocating here. Not for Dzokhar's sake so much- he was involved in a gunfight with police and did confess to the bombings- but for the next Richard Jewell or Ray Donovan or Lindy Chamberlain- those Very Bad People that everyone tells you are obviously guilty... Until it turns out that they aren't.
I used to be a death penalty supporter, and then I read a whole lot of newspaper stories about dudes who were exonerated by DNA evidence after spending years and years on Death Row.
