Usually for New Years, I come up with some huge list of resolutions that I'm convinced will finally make me a happy, successful individual, then promptly abjectly fail to follow through with most of them.
This year I think maybe I'm just going to resolve to play with the dog more.

That statement rings kinda hollow when it's coming from a famous author. I think it's a pretty safe bet that he wasn't writing novels in crayon from his crib.

No, no, no....you guys need to be SCHOOLED in how you make New Years' Resolutions!!
Don't you know how to leave yourself an out?
You make your Resolutions...then one more:
"I FIRMLY RESOLVE...to break every other Resolution I made!"
This way, you ALWAYS keep at least one! Even if it is just that last one.
