The Green Impulse Building, an outstanding architectural work in Galicia, is leading the way towards a more sustainable and ecological future with the help of Garnica. The Green Impulse Building , built mostly with local wood, will be the emblem of the future Multiecological Neighborhood in the city of Lugo . This building represents a significant advance in the fight against CO2 emissions , emitting 90% less than traditional concrete and steel buildings, in addition to absorbing 280 tons of emissions. At Garnica we have participated in this project through our Fireshield Building boards , forming the roof of the building. Our Fireshield fireproof plywood features an innovative treatment that gives it exceptional fire resistance , even after sanding or machining. Thanks to their Euroclass B-s1-d0 and ASTM E-84 Class A certifications, the highest in wood, these boards significantly reduce the speed of carbonization, smoke generation and flame spread, guaranteeing safety and protection against fires.
In addition, they are made entirely from high-quality, sustainably managed local wood. The building has been co-financed by the European Union through the LIFE Lugo+Biodinático program , as well as by the Provincial Council of Lugo, and its construction has been carried out by an enthusiastic team of professors and researchers from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC ) and Austria Email List the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), directed by the coordinating architect Dr. Antonio José Lara Bocanegra. Impulso Verde is the first building in Spain to obtain the FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) Complete Project certificate , which guarantees that all the wood used in the work comes from forestry farms managed with strict sustainability standards, both environmental and social.
The Multiecological Neighborhood , which will house the Green Impulse Building, is presented as an urban village with emphasis on social cohesion, respect for the environment and energy savings . The use of Spanish wood in this project is a clear example of how sustainable construction and harmony with nature can converge to create a more resilient and ecological future. This innovative project marks an important step forward in the field of sustainable construction and the responsible use of natural resources. From the company we are proud to have contributed to a project that will change the construction perspective in the city of Lugo and will lay the foundations for a more ecological architecture committed to the environment.
